Parking
Despite being located on a busy road, Cypress Grove Park is a lovely park to walk around. A large lake with water lilies and a gazebo is surrounded by stunning cypress trees covered in endless Spanish moss. There are also winding paths past fields and a country fence.
The Estate House at Cypress Grove is a gorgeous venue for weddings and other events. It is set on 80 acres of scenic land along the shores of the picturesque Lake Jessamine and dates back to 1925.
There is a large parking area, with overflow parking available at the nearby Holden Avenue Park. The park is a popular place for runners, and the loop offers a charming Southern setting combined with lakeside natural scenery. Parking is free. There is a small snack shop nearby at Einstein Bros Bagels, seven minutes north on Orange Ave, where you can grab a chocolate croissant and a cup of tea. The park is also close to other neighborhood spots, like Lake Davis and Lake Cherokee, which offer more walking opportunities.
Rules & Regulations
A nice clean park, with ample picnic areas and fields for sports and activities. When we visited there were two cricket matches going on as well as flag football and a martial arts class. There is also a 1.2-mile trail around the park which has beautiful Southern scenery combined with lakeside natural beauty. It also features a 1925 estate house with a stunning backdrop for engagement photos.
Rental pavilions, picnic tables, and open spaces are available through the City’s Parks Division. The parks remain open to the public during these rentals and the rental fees are not prorated. The rental fee must be paid in full to reserve a space. The City requires proof of liability insurance to be provided prior to the rental date (if not included on the application).
